For individuals who have difficulty accessing a traditional dental office, we bring professional dental hygiene care directly to the comfort of home. Our mobile setup allows us to provide care in a favourite chair, wheelchair, recliner, or bedside—wherever the individual feels most comfortable. Our approach is flexible, unhurried, and tailored to each person’s physical, cognitive, and comfort needs, making at-home care especially helpful for older adults, individuals with mobility challenges, and those who benefit from receiving care in familiar surroundings.
HOME CARE SERVICES
Long-term Care Services
Strictly Prevention has established relationships with numerous long-term care communities throughout Metro Vancouver, bringing professional dental hygiene care directly to residents where they live. Care is provided bedside or chairside within the resident’s own room, eliminating the need to leave the facility or travel to a dental office. Receiving care in familiar surroundings can help reduce the stress, anxiety, and disruption associated with transportation and outside appointments—particularly for residents living with dementia, mobility limitations, or complex health needs.
Our care extends beyond the dental hygiene appointment. We develop individualized oral care plans and work collaboratively with care staff and families to help ensure each resident’s ongoing oral care needs are understood and supported. Our goal is to make dental hygiene care more accessible while supporting each resident’s comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
Annual Dental Hygiene Assessment
A dental hygiene assessment establishes baseline information of an individuals current oral health and overall health status. During this time we also provide an intra and extra oral exam to identify an possible abnormalities. This data allows us to create an individualized oral health care plan which is aimed at disease prevention and health promotion.
Dental Debridement
Professional scaling and root planning is instrumental in removing bacteria biofilms (plaque & calculus) above and below the gum line that can contribute to periodontal disease (gum and bone disease), tooth decay, and tooth loss. Generally, preventive dental debridement is recommended every three months for seniors living in long term care, specifically those who face medical, physical and/or cognitive challenges and consequently, have challenges with effective daily oral care.
Oral Disease Management
Fluoride varnish application is a safe and evidence based treatment to help in arrest and prevent dental decay and hypersensitivity. The recommendation of other therapeutic products and treatments may also be necessary to better manage oral disease.
Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver diamine fluoirde (SDF) is a topical medication to help treat and prevent dental decay and relieve dental hypersensitivity. SDF is especially effective in managing dental decay in seniors unable to undergo invasive dental procedures.
Interim Stabilization Therapy
Interim stabilization therapy (IST) is a temporary restorative procedure that is a therapeutic intervention used to free an individual from tooth pain and prevent further tooth decay until it can be addressed by a dentist. IST helps to arrests dental decay through a therapeutic release of fluoride. The procedure is non-invasive and does not require anesthetic.
Denture Care
Dentures can harbour numerous bacteria biofilms that can contribute to oral conditions such as thrush and denture stomatitis. Denture cleaning and proper daily care is instrumental in ensuring long term comfort and health for individuals.

Education is foundational in understanding how oral disease is prevented and perceived. We take great pride in educating individuals, staff, and families on the importance of preventive therapy and effective daily oral self care guided by current evidence based research.
